We need Volunteers in Uganda.

Dear Sir or Madam.

Beroya Gospel Fellowship is a registered faith based N.G.O, devoted to breaking the vicious cycle of poverty so prevalent in sub-Saharan Africa particularly Uganda. We have developed several poverty reduction projects and programmes in eastern part of Uganda (Busoga region) that focus on education, Career training and Job placement, because it is the necessary catalyst that together with other elements, can not only bring a better and wholesome life, but allow the country to flourish. Education is the major focus with our ‘Women’s and Children’s LIVES under Beroya Children and mother empowerment (BE-CAME) Programme. We have other program called Beroya water and sanitation health education development (BE-WASHED).

In keeping with our mandate, we have developed a project called Volunteer Uganda. Our programme involves inviting of qualified/semi qualified professionals who recently graduated/retired their courses/jobs from several Western nations namely the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and Australia to come to Uganda and volunteer in different fields, here in Uganda. Arrangements will be done for local travel and accommodation. Our NGO is about education and improving the lives of people in eastern part of Uganda. Coming to Uganda and volunteer just does that.

We are writing you because we believe you can help us with our endeavour to get volunteers to Uganda or volunteering directly. This will really help in improving our level of healthcare standards, living conditions and career training among many other fields. All this will improve the lives of poor people here in JINJA-Uganda. We would appreciate information about your particular ways in doing this, in order that you may be a source for needed volunteers. We are suggesting a common understanding wherein optimally, arrangements can be made for professionals and other people to come and volunteer here in Uganda. The professionals coming to Uganda, will be provided with living quarters (most likely staying with an identified Ugandan family where they will learn of living in Busoga region would be made easier) for a desired time if they so wish. We will also organize for affordable hotels or Hostels according to their needs. We would encourage you to consider us as a source for needed volunteer opportunities here in Uganda.

We will provide you with complete details of areas they can volunteer e.g. Schools, churches, clinics, children’s homes, orphanages, counselling women group centres and charities that will need such help. As a volunteer you have the opportunity to make a practical difference, as well as learning new skills and gaining professional and personal experience.

Please advice us on the way forward since this is a new programme that we have started.
